Multiplication knowledge is essential to mathematical progress.  Times Tables and number bonds are at the heart of mental arithmetic, which forms the basis of a child’s understanding and ability when working with number. Once the children have learnt their Times Tables and related divisions by rote; they are able to work far more confidently and efficiently within this subject.

There are different ways to learn Times Tables, through rote learning, written practice and testing, verbal practice, playing games and through songs.
