At St Mary’s we aim to instill a love of sport and physical activity into all of our pupils by providing a rich and varied PE curriculum where children can learn new skills and develop existing skills. We aim to use sport to develop crucial life skills such as teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, understanding, leadership, determination, perseverance and to be aspirational. We want to provide opportunities for all children, in a wide variety of activities – including the participation of children with additional needs, with a focus on personal targets and progression. In addition, we strive to offer a range of extra-curricular activity, including the opportunities to represent the school at competitions and fixtures. Finally, we hope that team camaraderie and working together can also lead to better relationships and new friendships between the children.
