Information for Reception 2026 Parents and Carers

Reception School Uniform

We would like to let families know that the Reception uniform is changing this year.

From September, children should come to school wearing the winter uniform. This will help them to manage changing in and out of their clothes more easily for swimming, and it is also better suited to their active outdoor learning.

The winter uniform is:

• St. Mary’s navy hoodie with school badge *

• Navy jogging bottoms with elasticated bottoms

• Plain blue polo shirt

• Plain black or white trainers

For the summer term, children may wear:

• A sky blue gingham summer dress with a white collar

• A blue polo shirt with grey tailored shorts or a grey pleated skirt

• A  navy jumper or cardigan

• Plain black school shoes

• Grey or white socks

Please note that the children do not have formal PE lessons until the summer term, so they will not need a PE kit until then.

The children will swim weekly from September, so please make sure your child has the correct swimwear.

We have attached a visual of the Reception uniform below.

Extras

• A book bag with school badge*

• Black or navy coat

• Wellington boots

• Puddle suit

Please ensure that all uniform is clearly labelled with your child’s name, including shoes.
