Welcome to St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School.

St. Mary’s is a Voluntary Aided school, founded in 1933 by Monsignor Jules van Meene, who was the first parish priest of our parish church, St. Mary Mother of God. Since the outset, the aim of the school has been to serve the wider parish, and we are privileged to say that we have been at the core of our thriving and vibrant community ever since.

Underpinning everything we do at St. Mary’s is our school mission statement:

“With Jesus and through the prayers of Mary, we enjoy learning and celebrate our lives together.’’

With Christ, and with compassion and respect at our core, we aim to create an environment where every member of the community may grow in their faith and develop deep respect and compassion for themselves and others.

Our school aims to ‘Develop the entire person’ through striving for academic excellence, prioritising well-being, providing first-hand learning and enrichment experiences, encouraging the children to thrive and to become independent, life-long learners, walking with Christ.
